Creative writing workshops
I have been teaching creative writing in a university setting for seventeen years and helped dozens of MA students and other new writers shape, refine and edit their novels and illustrated nonfiction texts for adults and young people. I’d be delighted to tailor workshops of between one hour and a full day to your group’s writing needs. These sessions are designed to generate new work in a friendly, supportive environment.
Following on from the popular ‘Write that Novel!’ course delivered at The Language Academy, Winchester alongside novelist Claire Fuller, I shall be teaching an introductory ‘Writing for Children’ 12-week evening course at the same venue in early 2023. Details here:

If you would like to hear about future workshops, please contact me via the form at the bottom of the page.
What attendees have said about my ‘Writing Naturally’ workshops:
‘A very valuable and helpful session on starting and generating high quality fiction. This session will definitely guide the structure and writing of my next story.’ Workshop attendee Peter Owen
‘I really enjoyed the pace at which Judith led us firmly but freely through inspirational exercises. I saw new ways of expressing characters and point of view, all wrapped up in a beginning, middle and end feel to the day!’ Workshop attendee Emma Latham
‘Did the teacher say ‘Resonance’! This course will resonate with me as a writer. So enjoyed it!’ Workshop attendee Rita Antoinette Borg
Mentoring
I am a mentor with Jericho Writers, where writers can sign up for bespoke one-to-one mentoring in blocks of ten hours, for a maximum of thirty hours. Find out more here:
Reader reports
If you would like a reader’s report on your manuscript, or a report on the first three chapters plus synopsis only, or some other form of editorial support, please send me a message via the contact form outlining number of words and genre, along with an email address and a brief note about the type of support you are seeking. We can then discuss your needs and I’ll be happy to provide a quote. If I don’t think I’m the right person for your project, I will say so.
